- VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud, the industry-leading software-defined solution, will supercharge Indonesian enterprises with seamless flexibility, agility and scalability to bolster the country’s digital transformation journey
JAKARTA, 18 March 2020 –Telkomtelstra, a joint venture between Telkom Indonesia and Telstra Australia today announced they are working with VMware to enhance its Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN), offering Indonesian enterprises greater flexibility and scale to bolster the country’s digital transformation goals.
As one of the region’s fastest-growing digital economies, Indonesia is expected to more than triple the size of its digital economy from US$ 40 billion in 2019 to US$ 130 billion by 2025[1]. On a rapid expansion journey, Indonesian businesses are now looking for effective ways to seamlessly expand and support the growing demand, while at the same time effectively connecting branch offices and remote sites across the country’s vast geography. By integrating the capabilities of VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud, telkomtelstra will provide enterprise customers much-needed flexibility with consistent, pervasive connectivity and intrinsic security for applications, data, and users from the data center to the cloud and branch.
“In today’s business environment, traditional network models are no longer able to overcome the lack of agility, flexibility, and scalability of legacy hardware-based models to accommodate rapid changes in the enterprise IT environment,” said Agus F. Abdillah, telkomtelstra Chief of Product and Synergy. “We are delighted to work with VMware with its industry-leading SD-WAN solution as part of our product portfolio. The VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud deployment will support us in enhancing our SD-WAN offering in Indonesia with a rich set of features, such as automation, Dynamic Multi-Path Optimization (DMPO), zero-touch provisioning, and auto-failover, in today’s multi-cloud world,” Agus added.
As Indonesia’s leading Managed Service Provider, telkomtelstra will offer VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud to better enable Indonesian enterprises and helping optimize their workload performance over a cloud-enabled network, allowing better bandwidth allocation and better application performance across multiple branch offices in a seamless operation. Furthermore, the solution will allow enterprises to minimize their reliance on expensive routing hardware as well as workforce allocation for manual network maintenance.
“VMware is excited to work with telkomtelstra in delivering our industry-leading VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud to future-forward Indonesian enterprises,” said Cin Cin Go, Country Manager, VMware Indonesia. “Indonesia is a vast country with over 17,000 islands, and its geography presents a unique challenge for businesses both from a resource and network standpoint. VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud can help businesses address these challenges while also providing consistent performance and user experience in remote sites and branch offices.” “Digital transformation initiatives such as IoT and cloud will be the main drivers for SD-WAN implementation. Businesses need a flexible and reliable network architecture that can support greater innovation and scale, ” stated Agus. Telkomtelstra has currently delivered VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud to more than 5000 branches for its customers all over Indonesia. “We are excited by the interest in SD-WAN as many companies begin to migrate their company’s applications to the cloud.” Agus added.
